The FORS Annual Review 2017 is out now and available to access on the FORS website. With a detailed look back at the many FORS successes in 2017, the Annual Review also describes how FORS operators continue their commitment to improving the safety of their communities and the reputation of road transport operators.
FORS continued its steady growth in 2017, as evidenced by 264 new companies gaining FORS Silver accreditation, 59 attaining FORS Gold status for the first time, and, by the end of the year, a total membership increase to 4,654 FORS accredited operators.
The savings and improvements to performance make impressive reading and confirm that members’ efforts are translating into real benefits, with one member, Herts Traffic Management, reporting a 31% mpg improvement, 44% less incidents and 22% less CO2 emissions.
Training is key to achieving these improvements, with FORS investing heavily last year in developing its FORS Professional training portfolio – for both managers and drivers. In 2017 alone, over 27,000 drivers have completed FORS driver training courses, over 122,000 drivers and managers have undertaken our range of eLearning modules, and at least 1,000 managers have attended a FORS Practitioner workshop.
As well as marking its tenth anniversary in 2018, FORS will be celebrating a number of major milestones, including its 1,000 FORS Practitioner.
FORS would like to thank its members for their commitment to a safer, greener and more efficient industry. Come and see us at some key events in 2018.
