Volkswagen announces upgrade to Caddy specification

Written by Ellie

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (VCV) has announced an upgrade across all levels of its Caddy model – one of the most popular vehicles in the UK for light commercial vehicle (LCV) fleet operators.

Coming into effect from 2018, changes to the specification include the addition of autonomous emergency braking across the range, as well as the manufacturer's Driver Alert system.

Inside the vehicle, a leather multifunction steering wheel and multifunction display will come as standard in all models, as will Volkswagen's Discover Media satellite navigation system.

Sarah Cox, head of marketing for VCV, commented: "The Caddy has always represented exceptional value for money and these changes further enhance its appeal.

"We're delighted to offer people a petrol option at a lower price than before and are proud of our comprehensive safety package, which we believe makes the Caddy the safest small van on the road."

As mentioned, the pricing structure for the Caddy range is also being amended, with costs coming down for all of the marque's petrol variants, and only marginal increases for diesel options. Prices will start from £17,527 (on the road including VAT).

All orders from July 1st this year will be equipped with the manufacturer's 2018 specification package.

Molly Benton, brand manager at Fuel Card Services, adds: "Fleet operators in need of a reliable and cost-effective LCV option may wish to turn to the Caddy to meet their requirements, especially given the fact that the model is now the safest in its class."
