Raising funds and fitness with FCS
27th August 2019
At Fuelcard Services, we pride ourselves on supporting many fantastic causes, as well as encouraging our staff to maintain fit and healthy lifestyles.
With this in mind, our very own Jamie Steel has been busy creating a new programme for staff that will get people up and moving and raising money for good causes.
It’s a marathon, not a sprint
Jamie’s bright idea will see as many members of staff as possible take up the challenge of training to take on a marathon in 2020.
Things are starting slowly this year, as all those interested in taking part will gradually build up to taking on this mammoth task. The team’s first goal will be a 10k event later in 2019, with more races to swiftly follow.
It’s an opportunity for FCS to raise money for some fantastic causes, with the participation of staff helping to raise funds for a range of charities in the coming year.
Jamie explained: “You can be a beginner or an expert, have minimal fitness or be a reigning marathon champion! Training plans along with nutritional help and support will be provided for all levels, as long as you are committed and determined to pull together as a team.”
The first potential race will be the Age UK Leeds Abbey Dash and we’re confident the event will be a springboard for many great things to come in terms of our future fundraising efforts and the fitness of our teams.
At FCS, our people are the heart of our business and we are constantly striving for excellence. We are always looking for new people to join our ever-expanding team, from a new office in Halifax to a new office in a new country: Germany.
