FORS, the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme, congratulates Garic Ltd for becoming the 200th company to achieve FORS Gold accreditation.
Garic, headquartered in Bury, Greater Manchester, manufactures, hires and sells welfare and environmental equipment to the construction industry. The company had first heard of FORS while working on Crossrail, and, realising that the ethos fitted in with its own safety and efficiency efforts, the company became a FORS Bronze member. Running both HGVs and vans, the company has nearly 50 vehicles in its fleet.
By optimising the many benefits of FORS accreditation, including FORS Professional training, Garic has progressed from FORS Bronze to FORS Silver and now FORS Gold accreditation, the highest level that FORS offers.
FORS Gold marks out those operators who have implemented best practice throughout the fleet, including the promotion of the FORS Standard throughout the supply chain and demonstrated meaningful improvements against the baseline data gathered in FORS Silver.
The company has used FORS as a benchmark, setting a high standard for the team to aim for and now overtake. It has also used FORS’ eLearning modules to train drivers, and used toolbox talks to communicate industry updates to the fleet.
Mark Booth, Garic’s transport manager said: “Receiving FORS Gold is a fantastic achievement and reflects the level of professionalism and commitment of our in-house transport operations.
“There are very few competitors within our industry who have this level of recognition and we’ll be very proud to display the FORS Gold logo on our fleet.”
Sonia Hayward, FORS Operations Manager said: “We congratulate Garic on this crucial milestone for the business which acknowledges the hard work of the whole team to raise standards and implement best practice. Achieving our 200th FORS Gold member is a significant milestone for us, and we are delighted that companies such as Garic continue to see measurable improvement in their operations when progressing to FORS Gold accreditation.”
