The Freight Transport Association (FTA) has published a new guide for UK haulage providers carrying out deliveries across Europe.
A 450-page document aimed at offering insight into best practice for all companies carrying out overseas operations in the coming year, the new European Road Transport Guide is free to members of the FTA and can be purchased for £79 by non-members.
It features updated sections on areas as diverse as safe loading practices, public holiday information for different countries, toll updates for selected routes across France and Italy, major overhauls to entries for Belgium, Estonia, the Netherlands and Switzerland, as well as details regarding the impact of European driving bans.
FTA international manager and editor of the guide Don Armour commented: "The European Road Transport Guide has been completely updated with all the information international operators need to successfully negotiate the confusing array of local and national regulations they face when operating in Europe and beyond.
"The information is as up-to-date and relevant as possible to enable companies and their drivers to avoid problems and keep to their schedules when they are on international journeys."
He added that the document is essential reading for businesses planning cross-border operations in Europe during the months ahead and gives important insight into the measures all operators need to have in place to ensure compliance with the myriad rules and regulations that come hand in hand with international travel.
