German automotive manufacturer Mercedes-Benz is one of the most iconic and easily recognised motoring brands on the planet and the company has now achieved three impressive milestones to help cement this position.
September proved a fruitful month for the company, with a trio of outstanding performances that have solidified the firm's place at the very forefront of automotive design.
Figures provided by Mercedes show it achieved its strongest ever September performance, as well as delivering record third-quarter and year-to-date numbers.
It revealed 211,286 Mercedes vehicles were sold to customers in September, representing a 12.1 per cent annual upturn. This is the single-largest monthly figure on record for the manufacturer and means the marque remains one of the most popular car builders on the planet.
Ola Kallenius, member of the board of management of Daimler AG responsible for Mercedes-Benz Cars marketing and sales, commented: "In September, we scored a hat-trick – the best month with more than 200,000 units sold, the best quarter and the best first nine months of a year for Mercedes-Benz."
He explained: "We continued our product offensive in September with the E-Class Estate, the long-wheelbase version of the E-Class Saloon, the C-Class Cabrio and the GLC Coupe."
Indeed, during the month, Mercedes-Benz achieved the impressive accolade of being the number one choice for registrations in some of the world's leading car-buying nations, including Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Japan, Taiwan, the USA, Canada and Mexico.
