Set to be held on Wednesday, April 5th in London, the workshop is entitled ‘Reducing Fuel Use and Minimising Environmental Impacts’ and will promote best practice among UK fleet operators in terms of maximising their green credentials.
Special thanks must go to Rachel Pearson, who has spent over a year working in partnership with FORS to set up the event and she will be in attendance at next month’s workshop. Members of FORS should also note that they can receive discounted services when signing up for Fuel Card Services products.
Rachel, who is the dedicated account manager for FORS members, commented: “There are many small changes fleet operators can make which can not only reduce their environmental impact, but also reduce their fuel bills too.”
It will cover a host of important issues for fleet managers when it comes to the difficult task of monitoring the environmental impact of fleet operations and ensuring they are as environmentally-sound as possible.
In the FORS reducing fuel use and minimising environmental impacts workshop you will learn how to monitor the environmental impact of your operation and identify ways to minimise its effects. Find out about strategies you can use to save money by improving your fuel efficiency. You will also have the opportunity to discuss the issues you face with other FORS accredited companies.
The event will cover the following topics:
- Environmental issues affecting the logistics sector
- Policies and procedures that can help minimise the environmental impact of logistics operations
- Fuel use, anti-idling, aerodynamics, procurement, driver training
- Importance of monitoring and measuring KPIs
- Report on the effects of logistics operations on the environment
Attendees will also have the chance to discuss a new report outlining the effects of UK logistics operations on the environment.
Kicking off at 13.15 GMT and running until 17:00, the workshop promises to be a jam-packed afternoon of fleet management best practice that attendees will be sure to enjoy and gain a great deal of benefit from. All those wishing to book their place at the workshop can do so here.
