FTA members will receive AA benefits until 2022
28th April 2017
Around 2,000 members of the Freight Transport Association (FTA) will continue to receive breakdown and recovery services from the AA after the two signed a five-year contract extension.
The AA has been the FTA’s official provider since 1991 and the partnership has seen multiple successes over its 26 years, with the AA supporting the FTA’s Van Excellence programme and ‘Love Logistics’ campaign, which highlighted career opportunities in the freight sector.
As a result of the contract, FTA members benefit from preferential breakdown rates and avoid annual fees whilst also streamlining the application process. The contract covers roughly 86,000 vehicles throughout the UK.
Stuart Thomas, the AA’s head of fleet and SME services, revealed that the partnership has helped the AA further its understanding of its freight and fleet customer needs.
“Our team is in the prime position to advise fleet managers on the topics and issues they need to be aware of and to help support staff in providing excellent service at all times,” Mr Thomas commented.
FTA members receive AA recovery services without an annual subscription fee and benefit from a reduced call-out rate and easy sign-up procedure.
“We are delighted to continue this partnership and offer our members the best possible recovery service to keep their vehicles moving,” said the FTA’s director of membership Pippa Shepherd.
“Our partnership with the AA is an important reinforcement of our commitment to ensuring members’ vehicles are back on the road swiftly when problems occur,” she concluded.
Stephen Halsey, brand manager at Fuel Card Services, adds: “The AA is one of the most trusted and respected brands around today and FTA members couldn’t be in better hands”.back
