How confident are you in the health and wellbeing of your company vehicles?
If the answer to that question is anything less than ‘very’ then an upcoming free webinar will be essential viewing.
Organised by road safety charity Brake, the webinar ‘Maintenance and mechanics – how safe are your vehicles?’ will outline the consequences of non-compliance with vehicle standards, as well as how to educate and train drivers to complete routine vehicle checks.
It will also cover the importance of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) calibration and how to verify the standards of technicians working on your vehicles.
Brake hopes that discussing the importance of ensuring the wellbeing of vehicles being driven for work, whether company or employee-owned, will result in benefits for overall road safety in the UK.
During the free webinar, leading professionals from the fleet industry will discuss areas such as how to ensure technical competence when choosing a bodyshop, essential maintenance systems and procedures for roadworthiness and compliance, and the use of telematics data to assess vehicle health and anticipate maintenance needs.
Sarah Plumb, Brake’s senior fleet officer, said: “Regular checking and servicing, particularly of safety-critical components can not only eliminate the need for expensive repairs and costly insurance claims but can save lives.”
Jeremy Rochfort, national sales manager at Autoglass and one of the scheduled speakers for the event, added: “This webinar provides us with a great opportunity to engage the fleet community on one of the most pressing issues for vehicle safety: ADAS calibration. I encourage fleet decision makers to sign up and learn more about how to manage these new active safety systems to ensure the safety of their drivers.”
Other speakers set to appear include representatives from National Body Repairers Association (NBRA), Society of Operations Engineers and Verizon.
The 90-minute webinar takes place on Thursday November 8th, beginning at 14.00. Register your place here.
Ellie Baker, brand manager at Fuel Card Services, comments: “Nobody expects fleet bosses to be bona fide mechanics, so this webinar should provide some handy tips into keeping company vehicles in tip-top shape.”
