A major addition to UK fleets has been unveiled in the form of the new Mercedes-Benz GLS.

The model will be presented to attendees of the New York International Auto Show 2019 (April 19th to 28th) and will be available for European buyers from Q3 this year.

A touch of class from Mercedes-Benz

Large and imposing, the GLS is designed to have an impressive presence on the road, while inside it has been fitted with all of the latest technologies and must-have gadgets for drivers.

It is both luxurious and elegant in its interior design, with leather appointments, a prominent, raised centre console, large touchscreen MBUX infotainment system and a striking, spoke-design steering wheel.

Offering a generous amount of space to the driver and passengers alike, the model also features five-zone automatic climate control, electrically powered heater and air conditioning, and access to radio, TV, media, phone and web browsing.

“The GLS combines modern luxury with the character of an off-roader,” commented Gorden Wagener, chief design officer at Daimler AG.

“Powerful highlights of the off-road design idiom combine with an elegance reminiscent of a classic luxury saloon. The interior is a synthesis of modern, luxurious aesthetics, hallmark SUV practicality and digital high-tech. In our view, the new GLS … offers the best of all these worlds.”

The model will come with a range of powertrain options in both diesel and petrol, with all variants featuring Mercedes’ 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission.

Ellie Baker, brand manager at Fuel Card Services, comments: “The new GLS will be a welcome addition to many fleets, with drivers benefiting from outstanding quality throughout and a host of exquisite design touches to enjoy.”
