Fleet Safety Awards finalists confirmed; winners named in October

Written by Ellie

Nominees for this year’s Fleet Safety Awards have been announced ahead of October’s winners ceremony in Birmingham.

Organised by road safety charity Brake, the annual awards recognise the efforts and achievements of those working to reduce the number of crashes involving at-work drivers.

An overwhelmingly high number of entries were submitted for 2018’s awards and as a result, more than 40 organisations are in with a chance of winning one of 13 prestigious awards.

The winners will be announced at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on Thursday 11th October.

Amongst the nominees are household names such as British Gas, National Express and Royal Mail.

Raising the bar for road safety

Sarah Plumb, Brake’s senior fleet officer, congratulated all those shortlisted for this year’s awards.

“We would like to say a big thank you to all those who entered and wish the shortlisted individuals and organisations the very best of luck,” she said.

Richard Kent, enterprise account director at Trimble – the event’s headline sponsor, added: “Fleet safety is at the forefront of our agenda and we are continually improving our technology to make vehicles and drivers safer.

“We need to ensure that the bar on road safety is always raised and we are dedicated to working alongside Brake and our customers to achieve this.”
