Euro NCAP – Europe’s premier safety testing organisation for all new vehicles – has given a resounding thumbs up to the new Volkswagen (VW) T-Cross SUV.

The model achieved the highest rating of five out of five for vehicle safety.

Fantastic safety features throughout

The model features a range of driver assistance technologies as standard, including Pedestrian Monitoring, City Emergency Braking System, Lane Assist, Hill Start Assist and proactive occupant protection.

It also offers Lane Change Assist, Blind Spot Monitor, as well as the manufacturer’s Driver Alert System, Park Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control.

In testing, the updated model achieved scores of 97 per cent in adult occupant protection and 86 per cent for child safety. It also rated 80 per cent for ‘active support systems’ – a far higher rating than its predecessor.

The VW T-Cross was praised for its outstanding crash characteristics and the manufacturer’s commitment to driver, occupant, pedestrian and other road user safety.

Overall, Euro NCAP stated the model “meets the most stringent safety standards”.

Ellie Baker, brand manager at Fuel Card Services, comments: “Businesses looking to add safe, reliable models to their fleets could do a lot worse than consider the new VW T-Cross. It achieved excellent scores across the board with Euro NCAP.”
