DVF Racing made a strong start to the 2018 Porsche Carrera Cup GB at Brands Hatch as Tio Ellinas scored two second-place finishes.
For Ellinas the two strong performances were the ideal start for a season in which he has championship aspirations. “It was a good weekend with two positive podium finishes,” he said. “I think it will be a good one at Donington. I enjoy racing there and from where we are now if we work the same way and keep improving both the team and myself we can win. I think Dino will be our main competition, so we’ll have to fight with him and give him a hard time.”
“Donington is not as tight as Brands Hatch, so I think I will fit in nicely. I’ve won a couple of times there in Super Touring so I’m looking forward to it and stretching the cars’ legs. I have to say a massive thanks to Lordes for sponsoring us and believing in me.”
Slidesports Engineering Team Manager Mark Jenkins is excited to perform closer to home for the next two rounds. “I’m looking forward to Donington, it’s our home race as a team,” he said. “In the first test at the track Tio showed himself to be fast and with what we’ve learned in the opening races I think he is going to be on the money.”
David Fairbrother, who didn’t climb behind the wheel at Brands Hatch, was immensely proud of the team effort. “To start the new season with three trophies is absolutely fantastic,” he said. “I’m really proud of what Tio achieved on track, and that was thanks to the hard work of Mark and the team at Slidesports. I can’t wait to see what we can all achieve at Donington Park.”
The DVF Racing cars will be on track at Donington Park for two test sessions on Thursday April 26, before qualifying at 11:55 on Saturday April 28. The first 33-lap race takes place that afternoon at 17:05, with the second on Sunday April 29 at 13:35, which will also be broadcast live on ITV4 and ITV Hub.
