Citroen C3 Aircross racks up 100,000 sales in just ten months

Citroen’s C3 Aircross has been officially confirmed as a commercial success after sales of the compact SUV hit six figures in just ten months.

Almost 70,000 of those have been sold since the start of 2018, making this new model the French car maker’s second best-selling vehicle, just behind the C3 supermini.

More than half (55 per cent) of the C3 Aircross models sold so far have been the range-topping Flair trim level.

When it comes to optional extras, buyers haven’t been able to resist ticking the boxes, with over a third (35 per cent) including the optional interior ambiences, while a quarter add a two-tone roof.

Additionally, 30 per cent of orders specify a ‘colour pack’, which delivers colour touches on the roof bars, rear quarter-lights, door mirrors and around the headlights.

Other reasons why the C3 Aircross is a winner

Aside from its sales success, the C3 Aircross has been picking up a few awards too, most notably being named ‘small SUV of the year’ in the Auto Express New Car Awards 2018 and ‘best buy car of Europe’ in the Autobest 2018 awards.

A statement from Citroen said: “This success is a clear endorsement of the brand’s product offensive. In the first half of 2018, Citroën reported a nine per cent rise in global sales (vs the first half of 2017), with a seven-year high in Europe.

“With its eye-catching design, outstanding modular layout, extensive personalisation options and 12 driver assistance technologies, the Citroen C3 Aircross’ exceptional sales performance reflects its instant appeal.”
