Chauffeur company calls in diesel Volvos for major fleet expansion

A premium chauffeur company has taken delivery of more than 40 new Volvos.

East Sussex-based Club Class Chauffeurs recently added 22 S90s, 12 V90s and seven XC60s to its fleet – all of which are diesel-powered and in the range-topping Inscription trim. These additions boost the company’s fleet to 55 vehicles.

Club Class Chauffeurs says one of its cars can cover anything between 25,000 and 50,000 miles in just six months, so chose to go with diesel due to the impressive fuel economy achieved over such distances.

Volvo’s range of Drive-E diesel engines are incredibly efficient and its Pilot Assist semi-autonomous driver-assistance system can ease long journeys.

Jonathan Dow, managing director of Club Class Chauffeurs, described Volvo’s cars as “the perfect fit”.

“They provide safety, reliability and comfort, all of which are our core values,” he commented. “Our drivers enjoy driving the latest Volvos and our customers enjoy being driven in them.

“We carry out regular customer surveys to generate feedback on all areas of our business, particularly our fleet; many customers are very impressed. Some often ask for a specific model when requesting a car, which is one of the reasons our XC60 fleet has grown.”

Each Volvo comes with a range of standard safety features, including City Safety, which provides automatic emergency braking with pedestrian, cyclist and large animal detection, and steering support to help you steer around an object in an emergency. It also features the world-first automatic braking application to help avoid a collision with an oncoming vehicle.

Ellie Baker, brand manager at Fuel Card Services, comments: “Chauffeur companies stand to run a cost-effective and safe fleet with Volvo cars thanks to their great engines that strike a perfect balance of efficiency, refinement and power.”
