Road and vehicle safety organisation Brake has been honoured at this year's ACFO awards ceremony, which took place on November 16th.
The body picked up the prestigious Fleet Safety Initiative of the Year title for 2016 and was praised for its efforts to promote best practice in this area among its many members.
Established in 1996, Brake shares a range of tools, training and guidance for fleets, with support offered to businesses and individuals alike on the tricky area of fleet safety and compliance. Brake is also a strong lobbyist for improved road safety across the UK.
Ellie Pearson, professional engagement manager at Brake, said: "We're delighted to have won ACFO's Fleet Safety Initiative of the Year Award for 2016.
"Through Brake Professional we aim to support all fleet operators by sharing best practice and providing resources and training to support them in managing occupational road risk."
Indeed, the organisation is now offering a discounted membership to those who would like to join the group in the coming months, as a way of further enhancing its fleet safety offering.
Natalie Brinkley, brand manager at Fuel Card Services, adds: "Fleet safety should always be paramount. It is therefore an extremely positively development to see one of the UK's largest road safety organisations be honoured for its efforts in this area."
