BMW Group has announced its best-ever August performance, with worldwide vehicle delivery numbers rising by 5.7 per cent annually in August 2016.
Year-to-date sales for the German marque are equally impressive, with a 5.5 per cent rise in comparison to the same period of 2015. At the same time, the manufacturer's iconic Mini brand remains a strong draw for new car buyers, with a 10.3 per cent increase in registrations in August.
Across the globe, the European and Asian markets continued to deliver a strong sales push for the brand, with fleet and private purchasers investing in BMW models in their thousands across each region.
Dr Ian Robertson, member of the BMW AG board of management with responsibility for sales and marketing, said: "Sales are increasing across the range and our electrified models are proving extremely popular – we've already sold more alternative drive vehicles this year than in the whole of 2015.
"The BMW Group's ongoing sales success across all our premium brands underlines the strength of our product line-up."
In August, the BMW brand delivered 142,554 cars to buyers around the world. Of this figure, the BMW X series proved extremely popular, with almost 17,000 units sold. Meanwhile, sales of the BMW 7 Series also rose during the month, with a three-fold increase in comparison to the same month of 2015.
The manufacturer therefore remains one of the most popular car-makers on the planet, with the future appearing bright across all its model ranges.
