Audi A4 is back in black

Written by Ellie

The fifth-generation Audi A4 is one of the most accomplished small executive cars on the market right now and its appeal has just been bolstered with the announcement of a new range-topping trim level.

The A4 Black Edition builds on the standard A4’s level of luxury with exclusive styling and more equipment resulting in an amplified road presence.

Audi reckons the car “guarantees stand-out appeal” with the addition of 19-inch five-arm alloy wheels with a matte titanium finish and titanium black styling on the mirror housings, singleframe grille, window surrounds, side skirts, air intakes and – for saloon models – the rear spoiler.

Avant estate models get black roof rails, while both feature privacy glass for rear passengers.

On a less obvious note, acoustic front side window glass further refines the already remarkably hushed A4 cabin.

Other cabin features in the Black Edition A4 include a flat-bottomed multi-function steering wheel and piano black inlays.

The Black Edition trim is available to order now across the A4’s engine range, from the entry-point 1.4-litre TFSI petrol (£32,350), right up to the three-litre V6 all-wheel-drive diesel estate (£44,350).

Molly Benton, brand manager at Fuel Card Services, comments: “More than half the customers who ordered the previous generation of A4 opted for the Black Edition. These extra touches really elevate the car to another level."
