Training changes to the FORS Standard v5

Written by Ellie

FORS Standard version 5, which will be available to download from the FORS website next Tuesday, includes new mandatory training requirements for both drivers and managers. Organisations with audit dates on and after 14 January 2019 will be audited against version 5 and must therefore prepare their Bronze, Silver or Gold audit(s) against the revised requirements.

In order to assist FORS members at re-approval audit with the transition between the current version and version 5, FORS has put together transitional arrangements for the introduction of some of the new requirements, as detailed below.

In order to reflect the progressive nature of the scheme, the new mandatory training requirements span across all three levels of accreditation, as follows:

NEW TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Bronze D4 ·        Mandatory FORS Professional Security and Counter Terrorism eLearning module completed within the past 12 months. This module is no longer part of the suite of safety eLearning modules
Silver

S5

·        Mandatory FORS Professional LoCITY Time to clean up eLearning module completed within the past 24 months
Gold

G5

·        Mandatory FORS Professional LoCITY Driving classroom training course completed within the past five years

·        Qualification as FORS Practitioner for the responsible person by Gold re-approval audit

The transition period for some of the new training is as follows:
