BP Fuel Price Guarantee is a new service launched by Fuel Card Services in partnership with BP to help you manage your regular diesel fuel budget and reduce the impacts of price volatility in the market. Protect your business against prices increasing beyond the agreed capped price.
Who is the BP Fuel Price Guarantee (BP – FPG) offer suitable for?
Customers with car or van fleets (small to medium size) purchasing regular diesel who are interested in budgeting diesel fuel costs.
How long is the BP – FPG period?
Up to 12 months.
Are any fuels excluded from BP – FPG ?
Yes. BP Ultimate Diesel, BP Ultimate Unleaded and regular unleaded, LPG / Autogas and Red Diesel (Gasoil). Only regular BP diesel, drawn in the UK at BP branded non-motorway and motorway sites will be protected.
Is Fuel Duty and VAT included in the FPG protection?
No. Both Fuel Duty and VAT are excluded from BP – FPG protection. The cap will change if duty varies.
Do we have to cover all fleet vehicles?
No. You can choose to cover however many vehicles in your fleet you wish. You can only have cards for the protected vehicles under the relevant BP – FPG account.
Is there a minimum volume that I can protect?
Yes. You must protect a minimum of 500 litres per vehicle, and additional volume in increments of 100 litres.
Does the BP – FPG apply to all stations where the BP PLUS Fuel Card is accepted?
No. The BP – FPG protection would not apply to Texaco and Gulf petrol sites, although it can be used to fuel your vehicle at these sites.
Is there a minimum volume that I must use?
No. There is no pressure on you or your drivers and you can fill up based on the amount of fuel you need.
Can we add more vehicles once set up?
Yes, but you will need to open another BP – FPG account and enter into a new agreement.
What if I would like to protect more volume or an additional vehicle?
You would need to open another account, and enter into another BP – FPG agreement.
Can we move unused volume to a new account?
No. We are unable to move protected volume from account to account, however you can set up another agreement under a new account (if available).
When does the eligible volume get used up?
Only when the pump price goes above the capped price.
What happens at the end of the BP – FPG protection period?
If available you will be offered a new BP – FPG offer, and you can be moved to a new account (if available). If you choose not to move, then you can be set up as a normal BP Plus Fuel Card customer.
What if I get to the end of the BP – MPG protection period and have not used up all of our eligible volume?
Unused volume will be lost if the time period runs out.
What if we wish to close our account whilst we still have eligible volume left?
This is fine, but the unused volume will be lost.
